In 2026, MetCal expanded to Thailand with the opening of its Bangkok branch.
MetCal started in September 1996 in Bayan Lepas, Penang, with a small rented 300 s.f. shop floor, focusing on calibration services for the engineering and semiconductor industries. From the beginning, the company’s strategy was to listen to customers and solve their issues with reliable service.
From its first setup in Penang, MetCal has grown into a recognized calibration and validation company in Malaysia, with operations in Penang, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, and Sarawak. Today, the company operates with more than 100 staff and a combined 29,000 s.f. calibration facility space.
MetCal laboratories are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and provide specialized calibration services in electrical, temperature, mechanical, and mass-related measurements. These accreditations reflect the company’s commitment to quality and technical reliability.
Beyond calibration, MetCal supports customers with validation, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, regular servicing, equipment installation, and operational training. The company also provides outsourcing solutions for laboratory and medical device experiments.

In 2026, MetCal officially expanded to Thailand with the opening of MetCal Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bangkok. The Thailand branch extends MetCal’s expertise to local customers, with a focus on supporting food & beverage, medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries.
